Turkey it is bordered by the Aegean Sea to the west, the eastern Mediterranean in the south and the Black Sea in the north. Marmara Sea is an inland sea between the Turkish Bosphorus in the north and the Dardanelles to the south.

In the 1200s, the Selchuk sultan Aladdin Keykubat gave the city name "Alaiye" (City of Aladdin).The red castle, which is Alanyas hallmark, stems from the heydays under Sultan Aladdin Keykubat.

Alanya has one of the most beautiful coasts on the Mediterranean Sea with several kilometers long sandy beach. But Alanya is much more than sandy beaches. Taurus mountain is possibly what makes Alanya unique, where they create a whole different world with its forests, rivers, and valleys. Mountains scents of oranges, herbs and blossoms. All year round you will find a colorful flora and fauna.

Today, Alanya is an international city with 384,949 inhabitants. 10% are foreigners. The municipality is doing its utmost to ensure that its new citizens should feel at home and have created a separate commissioner selection for them. The Norwegian Seamen's Church has established itself in Alanya and they arrange church services, excursions, courses and activities. Alanya can offer both historical sites, stunning scenery, shopping, and the city has a good selection of eateries and nightlife.
